At around 10 o'clock we headed towards Pahia to the Waitangi Treaty Grounds. There was also a cultural performance performed there, similar to the one at the Auckland Museum, with lots of singing, music, Maori dance, and even a warrior representation. Afterwards, during the tour, we were shown the largest Maori war canoe (pictured above), which weighs 12 tons and is made from 3 trees. We also visited the house of James Busby (a key figure in the agreement between the English settlers and the various Maori tribes) and the local museum.
After the cultural education, we drove to Pahia and picked up 2 tour guides who will accompany us from now onwards. One of them is called '80s and 90s Megamix,' who immediately made their debut on the way back to the hostel, and the other is called 'Best of Rock'.
We spent the evening relaxing with Alma and Jasmin while watching a few episodes of 'X-Factor: Das Unfassbare'.
