The first stop of our four-week Australia trip was the Blue Mountains, located about 120 kilometers west of Sydney.

The central starting point was the small town of Katoomba. After a brief introduction, we went on a three-hour trail through the rainforest on December 24th, with the goal of reaching the 'Three Sisters,' the landmark of the Blue Mountains.

The path through the rainforest immediately captivated us, and the predicted three hours quickly turned into five hours.

Enormous trees, small streams, waterfalls, and a variety of animals tempted us to take out our camera every few minutes.

After about four hours, we finally reached the impressive rock formations of the 'Three Sisters.' After capturing them from all angles, we headed back to our campsite because we had to prepare our Christmas dinner in the camper ;-).

Unfortunately, it started raining on Christmas Eve, so we enjoyed our dinner ;-) with a glass of wine in the campground kitchen.
