I'm not a fan of travel guides that tell you what to see and when. Nevertheless, I still buy them from time to time. But I didn't do that for Hong Kong!
On Monday morning during breakfast, I was wondering what I could do today. I just wanted to go with the flow and let fate decide. So I simply got on the next tram and rode it to the final stop.
The tram in Hong Kong is one of the oldest means of transport. Some trams are up to 100 years old. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trams_in_Hong_Kong)
What a brilliant idea! I ended up at North Point Station!
There were hardly any foreigners in this area! Hong Kong at its best! The real life. The final stop, North Point, is located in the middle of a market. What a coincidence! Markets and I are the best friends!
I was able to watch the locals buy their daily groceries, see fish being filleted, pigs being butchered on the street, flower arrangements being made for the Chinese New Year, and fruits and vegetables being sold!
In short, it was wonderful! I spent hours at this market!
After a short recovery period at the hotel, I took the ferry to Kowloon in the evening. I wanted to see the Hong Kong skyline from the other side.
What a spectacular skyline!!!
There's always a laser and light show at 8pm. You can see it, but you don't have to! But you shouldn't miss the view of the Hong Kong skyline at night!
