Day 33: After preparing for the next few days (refilling water, emptying the toilet, stocking up on food, ...), we drove to the Mani Peninsula. We find the first village along the way so charming that we immediately make a stop. Kardamili is very well-maintained by Greek standards. The stone houses all have the same style, and we don't find any "eyesores" that often spoil the overall picture. And lovingly decorated shops with pretty accessories that no one needs, but make the hearts of most women beat faster.
The next stop is Foneas Beach. It looks very promising from the road. But before we can go down there, it starts to rain. From now on, we have a classic April weather, with constant back and forth throughout our day.
The first rain phase lasts quite long, which is why next we stop again in Areopolis and explore the town. Here too, we find a very clean townscape with beautiful buildings. However, two sizes larger than Kardamili.
During the next shower, we drive to the "Dinosaur" beach. The large white stones on the beach are supposed to remind of dinosaur eggs. Here we spend the rest of the afternoon and finally enjoy a beautiful sunset over the sea.
