02.01.2018 – Trip to the rainforest at Lago Arenal

After two days in the dust, it was now time to continue to the rainforest at Lago Arenal. Distance approximately 250 km. Duration approximately 6 hours. That's about the average speed you can expect, which makes this small country very big.

Once arrived, a bratwurst sandwich was on the menu at the 'German Bakery', which was really good. By the way, the Americans not only love German cars but apparently also German food. Sauerkraut ... Hefeweizen ... coconut roll was very delicious. German quality at Swiss prices ... : - )

Once arrived at the hotel, the view was already magnificent. Lodge in the jungle with a view of the lake and with mating toucans right in front.

Now let's hope that the rainforest does not do justice to its name when it comes to rain for a few days...

Travel practicalities:

The power supply here is analog to the US standard with 110 volts. There are different adapters, both of which must be taken along if devices with cold device plugs (the 'thick' ones) are to be used.

The showers are partially equipped with a shower head with an integrated water heater, which costs a maximum of 50 EUR. It works perfectly and can be easily installed anywhere. However, you should not touch it everywhere, otherwise you will get a shock, which is only half as bad with 110 volts : - )
