Garden of the senses

we=128:2-on the way

Today we are on our way to the GARDEN OF THE SENSES in Merzig, near the Luxembourg border. It was supposed to be a post-op relief trip.

We had visited this garden once before in early spring. There wasn't much blooming there; but now the view of a beautiful garden in late summer bloom beckoned. The drive on the motorway and federal highways was definitely worth it because of the views to the right and left of the streets. The Saarland replaced the Palatinate and the hills, the mountains and the beautiful landscape in general remained.

On the way we had the LANDGASTHAUS STÄNDEHOF in Ruppertsweiler on our list again. Like back then, a place with wonderful service, nice staff and great espresso. It's worth taking a short break here - or a longer one.

Then continue to Merzig. Narrow, winding streets lead up the mountain through residential areas to the Garden of the Senses. With oncoming traffic it gets pretty tight. In Italy, the horn is constantly honked on such roads to warn oncoming traffic. People are more relaxed here. Once at the top, there were two parking spaces - both almost empty today.

The entry prices are very family-friendly. And it was really worth repeating this trip. The roses were partly in full bloom, the sound of the water garden could be heard throughout the area and the insects had a lot to do. Every little planted corner was explained as well as every piece of art. In the colored gardens everything was made even more logical by the corresponding colored benches. We had a relaxing time there again. And to top it all off there was delicious cheesecake and espresso.

This very short vacation was worth it and we enjoyed everything. Because we were already close, it only took a short time to get to LUXEMBOURG. We only planned a very short stop there in SCHENGEN - I didn't really feel comfortable with so many people.

DELHAIZE is a busy supermarket in a shopping center with other shops. The license plates in the parking lot ranged from Bielefeld to Basel to France. So you quickly bought the popular chocolates, biscuits etc. and then went back home. Even if the day didn't leave the most exemplary footprint, the trip was good for my soul.

See you soon
