Rustling, chirping and screaming

A very short flight (35 min.) over the Andes brought us to the Amazon region, to Puerto Maldonado. 1 hour by bus on a bumpy road, another hour by boat and we arrived at the lodge. Our room consisted of 3 walls, so we had a clear view of the jungle from the hammock.
Our guide told us and an English couple a lot about the medicinal plants and the ecosystem of the jungle. We saw otters, caimans, piranhas, frogs (the one in the picture is not even the size of a thumb), giant snails (about 20cm), tarantulas and much more.
The night walk in the jungle was very spooky. Without a lamp, it's pitch black and very loud in the forest.
We have been back in Cusco since yesterday. Tomorrow a hike is planned before we continue to Puno on Monday.

Hallo Ihr Zwei, gute Idee, bringt uns bitte ein Alpaka mit. Wir haben das
Gästezimmer.. Vielleicht kann und dieser die ungebetenen Untermieter unter
dem Dach vertreiben. Zahlen nämlich keine Miete und machen nur Dreck.
In Euren Gesichtern kann man pure Freude erkennen. Es ist ja auch toll, was Ihr so alles seht.Oliver
Alpakas sind reine Pflanzenfresser. Wie wäre es mit einem größeren Kätzchen? Hält auch unliebsame Personen fern :-)
