August 22 - Hamburg - Day 3

प्रकाशित भइल बा: 24.08.2019

Third day at Elbe Camp. We got into the groove. This morning we went to the Rissen Laundromat (with its own website!) because the hippies couldn't figure out how to use the washing machine.

Doing laundry in the forest.

Preparing for the trip to Hamburg.

Visit to Hagenbeck Zoo

I finally took some time to figure out our bike navigation system and changed the settings so that it no longer avoids small paths.

As a result, the navigation system takes us through winding paths, on top of the Desy compound (large chemical factory), and through the Volkspark, passing by the stadium of the same name, on our way to the zoo.

This is where HSV fails.

Flamingos across from the restaurant.

Hagenbeck Zoo is old and pretty, but smaller than Hellabrunn. And Katja and I agree: Hellabrunn is better. Point for Munich.

All the animals here seem very chill.

Chickens roam freely here.

These two young tigers were very playful.

A happy family of elephants.

Statue in front of the elephant house. I think it represents the Indian Hindu god Ganesha.

Meeting with Inke and Jörn

I had warned Jörn. We're coming to Hamburg and want to meet up with you and Inke. Done. We meet at eight at StrandPauli in - who would've guessed it - St. Pauli.

The evening was very nice. So nice that I forgot to take photos. We had our last drink, our last beer, at Familien-Eck.

Our paths diverge at one in the morning. The poor souls have to work the next day.

A train doesn't run at that hour, but thanks to the navigation system, we find our way from Ottensen to Elbe Camping.

Inke and Jörn the morning after.
