The imperial campsite - our arrival part 1

प्रकाशित भइल बा: 19.08.2019

Tuesday, July 30, 2019, we continue our journey from Thuringia to Potsdam. We are still impressed by the small quiet places that passed us by during the drive to the highway, and the feeling arose that they wanted to go 'into the wide world' with us. We hardly encountered any people, although there were actually many Dutch people camping at the campsite - supposedly cosmopolitan. Obviously because of the Dutch owner of this place, with whom we briefly exchanged our life stories. I spot a disused train station from the window, pull out my analogue camera, and probably give the captured motif the final touch of the old, faded, long-forgotten through the film... However, images are not taken as quickly as with a DSLR, and I still don't know what effect this shot will have or if I managed to capture it while driving by. I still enjoy a few minutes of driving through the beautiful countryside, endless hectares of green firs, lush meadows, and distantly visible small villages with surprisingly pretty houses, slate roofs. We are still affected by the amazing silence of the campsite. We have reached the gray streets of the highway. About 2.5 hours left until arrival in Potsdam. I call the campsites near my family. One spot is available for us at the Imperial Campsite Potsdam, Pirschheide. At first, we thought of getting a pitch in the same town as my family, but there is a summer concert organized there and parts of it are already cordoned off during the week. Our arrival at the campsite was anything but total silence...
More about that in my next post.
Yours, Anja
