Auxonne nach Chalon-sur-Saone

Inspired by the expanse of the Saône River, our destination for the next day was Port de Plaisance, Chalon-sur-Saône. There's a Carrefour directly across the river. I had read that these stores, if they have more than 10 cash registers, also have German beer. The store looked quite large on the satellite image, giving us hope for a Franziskaner wheat beer. To cut to the chase, the store had over 30 cash registers, and we ended up buying Carlsberg in 0.33L bottles.

But the shrimp were so delicious that we couldn't resist and bought a kilogram of them for 13.95 €. Two bottles of Burgundy white wine, baguette, and a spicy aioli completed the meal.

Compliments to the chef, it's been a long time since we've eaten so well.

On that day, we passed the mouth of the Rhine-Rhône Canal, passed Seurre, had to leave Beaune at a significant distance to starboard. Our greetings go to the partner city. We reached our destination around 5:00 PM, passing Verdun-sur-le-Doubs.
