Galician - Weather in Foz - November 6th

We sleep in a bit longer today, around 9 o'clock we get up and enjoy a coffee in front of the bus. Silvia and Röbi come by again, and since they're heading in the same direction, we find a common spot and arrange to meet there later in the afternoon.

But first, we leisurely pack up, say goodbye to the nice owner and her beautiful place, and make our way to Coruño. Here stands an old church that has been converted into a skate park as part of an art and culture project. The pictures on the internet look really amazing and we would have loved to see it live and in color (literally) and take photos with the fish-eye lens...but...darn it...the place is closed. This would have been the second time we voluntarily ended up in a church...but...nope! Annette, the good intention was there :)

We can't find any information and while we order coffee and Tortilla, we ask if there are any opening hours, but there aren't any. Sometimes someone is there...sometimes not for a long time...too bad! By the way, the church is located in the middle of an industrial area, we wouldn't have thought that!

We move on and arrive at the designated spot around 3 PM. The owner greets us with a handshake and our names, then personally shows us everything and we are really surprised how neat everything is here. It's not a campsite, but there are showers, washing machines, sinks...everything is here...even a sun lounger under a straw umbrella (although...they weren't occupied that often with this weather...). Smartly, they have gravel here, which is a great thing when it's rainy weather...then it doesn't look like the Chocolate Bus anymore!

So after arrival, we wash ourselves and then sit in the sun in front of the bus. It's a bit chilly because the wind has picked up, but it's bearable!

Later, we take a walk with the dog to the beach and walk along the coast to the city, do some shopping and then, once again, we don't manage to stay dry on the way back to the bus.

In the evening, Switzerland invites us for some beer and wine and we sit together comfortably and chat until half past eleven, it was nice...a bit warm maybe...Jörni and I are not used to that, we don't turn on the heating at 11 degrees..., but sauna is supposed to be healthy :) Then quickly brush our teeth and off to bed!

The next morning is chilly, we put on our hats and jackets, but have breakfast in front of the bus...sometimes briefly with an umbrella, but at least outside.

The weather today is really crazy...we haven't seen so much weather in the sky for a long time. Everything is included today...everything on offer...everything for bric-a-brac! Around noon, it starts pouring heavily, the sky is black, there's thunder nearby...15 minutes later it's dry...bright sky on one side, dark gray on the other side...then heavy rain again...and so on.

The sky feels like it's changing every minute. We decide to wait a bit before taking a walk along the coast in the other direction and hang out in the bus. Around half past one, we just leave, rain capes in our backpacks, and see how it goes. The path is really beautiful and the waves crash heavily and shatter against the coastal wall, in between there are occasional small beaches, but it's high tide right now, so there's not much beach to see. The weather continues to be crazy, and I have never seen so much weather at once in a 360-degree turn! Blue sky and sunshine, black sky and rain, a complete rainbow and lightning over the sea...! Spanish weather is the craziest so far...!

You get quite a show during the walk. After a while, we take a short forced break under a bridge on the river, a brief phase of rain, and observe an otter and a kingfisher, what beautiful creatures...! At least as good as three moose...:)

We manage to get back to the bus without getting wet, but then the weather imposes a strict bus arrest on us. Water masses seep into the gravel ground and the thermometer shows 10 degrees...mmmhhh...! To get some warm air into the bus and reduce the humidity a bit, we take out the heating cube again for the first time since Norway and also do a bit of sauna!

What to do...? We throw ourselves on the bed, take out the laptop and watch "TV" for the first time in three months, to be more precise, we watch animated series...everyone can choose something.

So we lie comfortably in the bed and watch Nils Holgersson, Calimero, Danger Mouse, The Fraggles, and Dr. Snuggles...wonderful!

In the evening, we eat bread in the bus and listen to Spanish radio again. I write a bit for the blog and Jörni surfs the internet a bit. Then the lights go out...!

This morning it's dry, as usual we make coffee, chat a bit with Switzerland in the sun, and plan to have Spaghetti Bolognese for dinner tonight! We cook the pasta, and Switzerland takes care of the rest...that's a good arrangement! Don Roberto is actually a genuine Italian...I'm curious if his Bolognese is as good as mine...:)

I use the day to fill up the blog because the free internet here is fantastic. Jörni is out and about with the dog in the sunshine, exploring the surroundings a bit.

Tomorrow we want to move on. By the way, we still haven't seen the Playa de Las Catedrales...they're about 18 km away...! Maybe we'll make it tomorrow morning when we hit the road again.

Right now, we need to do a little shopping and then we'll start cooking. I think Jörni and I will wear shorts and t-shirts tonight at Silvia and Röbi's...!

Buen apetito!
