by Mauro (with comments in parentheses by Regula):
In Ronda, we had a very small (but as the boys found it: very modern) apartment (we were not used to that, but during Holy Week, it was fully booked as never before...) and a sofa that couldn't really be called a sofa bed (not even for Sandro's size). But on Easter weekend, it was very hot (around 25 degrees) and the coolest place in the house was on the roof, namely a swimming pool.

On Good Friday evening, after another reserve dinner (spaghetti and tomato sauce from the food box, this time prepared by Mauro), we went in search of a Holy Week procession. It was very impressive, alternating between silence and the beats of the drums. Our boys were definitely impressed. "Unfortunately" (as the boys found it) or "fortunately" (as Regula and Manda found it), there was a procession break on Saturday. Only on Easter Sunday, there was another procession on the program, this time more solemn and with joyful music, which we let pass by us from A to Z.
In Spain, there are no chocolate Easter bunnies. By chance, we saw and bought chocolate Nazarenos in a confectionery shop window on Saturday. Since no Easter bunny comes, Mommy and Daddy had to hide them...
We discovered the city on Saturday with a WhatsApp photo scavenger hunt: One group went ahead and sent photos to the second group. So, we discovered not only beautiful squares, alleys, and buildings, but also manhole covers, wallflowers, and graffiti along the way.
On Easter Sunday, we went for a "hike". It was quite hot and at first, we walked along the road for a long time. Mauro kept complaining the whole time that it was a "highly touristy" hiking trail, one could even do it in flip-flops. Even after the picnic, the grumbling continued. We continued walking around the city and from below it looked very impressive because the city is on high cliffs and there is a deep gorge between the old town and the new town.
Mommy and Daddy also had to admit that the recommended hike was more of a walk around the city, and when we would have reached the more interesting part for hiking, the enthusiasm of the three young hikers had already evaporated in the heat...
At the end of the hike, there was a sort of Martinsmärit (with bumper cars and a trampoline, etc.), but we didn't want to spend pocket money for that and preferred to go home to swim in the pool.
On Monday, as a substitute for the Sunday walk-hike, we made a stop at the 'El Torcal de Antequera' Nature Park on the way. Although the boys were anything but enthusiastic in the morning, they had to admit in the evening that this was a real hike and that hiking and guessing figures in the karst mountains was fun 😊
