Cassis is a charming village on the French Mediterranean coast, known for its breathtaking natural beauty and relaxed charm. It is located in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, about 20 kilometers east of Marseille.

We were particularly impressed by the imposing white limestone cliffs that surround the Calanques, which jut steeply out of the sea. The Calanques are deep, fjord-like coves with turquoise water. Together with the marina of Cassis, they provided a great backdrop with colorful boats and buildings.

The village itself has a picturesque historic center with narrow alleys, cobbled streets, and pastel-colored houses.

At the beginning of our tour, we chose a small hiking trail to see Cassis from above.

It was truly fantastic. Villas lined up one after another on the rocky promontories, and from above, we could look out over the Calanques and the marina.

While hiking, we lost some time taking pictures to be stress-free and punctual at the boat dock. However, we were lucky and there were two Lime bikes on our route, so we arrived at the dock even earlier and stress-free. 😀

We then took a boat trip to see Cassis and the Calanques from the water. The ride was very bumpy because the waves were a bit stronger, but I didn't mind that at all (I'm always up for some action 😀)

In the afternoon, we made our way to our next accommodation in Varages, where we will spend the next 6 days.

In the evening, we enjoyed delicious Ratatouille, of course, with the original recipe from Rémy. 😉
