Our accommodation in Nancy is very cozy. Everything is lovingly decorated and there was a delicious brioche ready to welcome us.
After freshening up, we walked around Nancy. There is no real pedestrian zone or city center there.
The city is known for its impressive Place Stanislas, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Place Stanislas is a magnificent square surrounded by beautiful buildings in the neoclassical style. It was designed in the 18th century by Duke Stanislas Leszczyński, the former Duke of Lorraine. The square is a popular meeting place for locals and tourists who want to enjoy the atmosphere.
This is where we also sat down for dinner and enjoyed the atmosphere.
Another beautiful spot in Nancy is Parc de la Pépinière, an idyllic place that invites you to linger and explore.
The park covers an area of about 21 hectares and was created in the 18th century. Originally, it was a nursery garden used for the cultivation of plants and trees. Over time, however, it was transformed into a public park and made accessible to the public.
The park is home to several monuments and statues that commemorate important personalities and events. There is also a botanical garden with wonderfully diverse varieties of roses to visit there.
Although we don't speak French, we managed quite well against our expectations. Google Translate with the interpreter function will be our best friend in the next few days. 😄
