Day 28 - Sydney

प्रकाशित भइल बा: 25.01.2023

Today we start the day on William Street and grab a quick breakfast. Our first destination is St Mary's Cathedral, which we reach through the Domain Park. The church has been built in the style of Neo-Gothic and is one of the largest churches in Australia. We pass by the Hyde Park Barracks and continue to the Pyrmont Bridge. We stop at Pyrmont Bay and see the replica of the sailship HMB Endeavour. The sailship belonged to the seafarer and explorer James Cook, with which he undertook his first exploration voyage to Australia between 1768 and 1771. We reach the district of Pyrmont. Here we take a stroll and finally end up at the Powerhouse Museum. There are exhibitions about the Revolution of Steam, steam engines, airplanes, and aviation. Especially the exhibition about Australia's involvement in the first space missions impresses us.

Afterwards, we walk to Darling Square and stroll along Tumbalong Boulevard. We pass by Tumbalong Park and the Chinese Garden of Friendship. There we take a short break with an ice cream.

We continue to Market City, where there are various souvenir shops, food stalls, as well as stands for jewelry, clothing, hats, or phone cases. We come to the Golden Water Mouth Tree, which marks the entrance to China Town. However, we save the exploration of China Town for the coming days and return to the hotel. Later, we go to a Thai restaurant in the Westfield Sydney shopping center for dinner and end the day with a walk in front of the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge.
