3.10. Mauricie National Park - Play of colors

प्रकाशित भइल बा: 04.10.2019

Bright sunshine when we say goodbye to our holiday home, but frost on the well-groomed lawn and a cold -1 degree.

Today our drive takes us to Montreal. The great weather and the vibrant colors all around inspire us to take a detour to Mauricie National Park. Here there are many hiking trails and about 150 lakes. In the fall, a particularly beautiful spot in Canada. We convince ourselves of this on short hikes recommended to us at the visitor center.

The park is located in the mountains halfway between Quebec and Montreal. The family ticket for up to 7 people costs 15.70 Can$. Here too there are countless picnic areas and barbecue facilities, mostly on the banks of the lakes with a great view.

In the park, our now beloved ritual of a sandwich picnic takes place for the last time before the return flight. We are being watched by some Canadian geese.

Now we are slowly beginning to understand why it is so difficult to find live moose. It is rutting season and therefore the peak of the hunting season.

We only reach our little holiday cottage near Montreal in the evening.
