Ko Lanta Island

After Simone became a bit tired of Tonsai tummy, we decided to change our plans and go to Ko Lanta and stay there. Then Merle can finally swim and we can relax. Optimistically, we booked everything in advance until the end of our vacation - unfortunately, we had rainy days and sometimes we felt a bit trapped. However, moving to another accommodation with a pool a beach away and Merle's increasing excitement for the ocean made up for some of it. And we discovered that the island has a vibrant yoga scene, so we took turns attending yoga classes and taking care of Merle, which brought us back to a regular practice and helped us incorporate the yoga theme into the rest of our vacation, making it somehow easier.

On the second to last day, we rented a car, and we even got one with a child seat. Thomas bravely drove in the left-hand traffic, dealing with potholes and muddy roads. We went to Lanta Old Town and explored the island a bit. It felt good to be on a different kind of adventure, but Merle wasn't particularly thrilled. She preferred to drive her own toy cars around.

Now, we have reached the end of our trip. We still have 2 days in Bangkok. We look back with nostalgia, feeling like we have arrived in this beautiful country, which can also be difficult at times - for example, when we consider the traffic situation (no public transportation, everyone relies on motorized vehicles, only children and tourists walk or ride bicycles) or the issue of waste (it's better not to look behind houses). Somehow, everything in Thailand seems temporary - but that's what we like about it. The people are friendly, always have a smile for Merle, and no one pretends to be busy if there's nothing to do. In that case, they can read the newspaper, chat with others, or nap in the hammock.

Thailand, we will definitely come back!
