After spending some time waiting, the gate number was displayed around 9:45 pm.
In the plane, I quickly found my seat. As expected, it was in the middle, on the aisle. There was a couple sitting next to me. After takeoff, there was an announcement in Spanish and suddenly some passengers started moving to the back. I looked at the passenger migration with curiosity. My seatmate explained to me that his wife has a whole row to herself in the back. He also moved to the aisle and gestured that I can sleep on the two seats.
At some point, they served some food. I got pasta! And a strange salad/cream and even a small cake for dessert.
I gladly accepted the offer to lie down. I didn't need all the plans for the flight. I basically slept the whole time. About 2 - 3 hours at a time.
Relatively shortly before landing, they served breakfast (8:30 am, German time).
Then there were some announcements in Spanish and a not very clear repetition in English, where the word 'passport' was mentioned repeatedly. And that we are landing in Santa Cruz Virus Virus. I was a bit confused. We were actually supposed to have a technical stop in La Paz, but either I overslept it or it was canceled. I'm not exactly sure.
There are felt hundreds of checks and showing passports and handing in forms at the airport. I got a little nervous with my two words of Spanish.
But everything went well. I was allowed entry. I got my two suitcases and after one final form and one final scan of my luggage, I was allowed to leave.
Fortunately, my pick-up service came early because the landing was announced earlier. So nobody had to wait for long!
And now I'm here, enjoying the 30 degrees and the overcast sky!
