Stage 36: From Loukisia to Kamena Vourla

The missed dinner was compensated the next morning with a particularly extensive visit to a bakery in Loukisia. In perfect weather and on a calm, well-paved road, we first passed along the coast and Paralimni Lake, later near Thiva. We rode through fields and the sparsely populated plain west of Thiva on Eurovelo 11 until we reached the coast again. The ride continued until Kamena Vourla, which is probably a tourist resort in the high season. I was the only guest in the small, family-run hotel. The whole family was very helpful and curious and asked me about my trip. Evi, the mother of the family, even spontaneously baked a spanakopita, the famous spinach and feta strudel, for me, from which I received an extra large piece! Otherwise, after a night in the tent, I was of course happy to have a shower and a bed.
