Our highlight...Dune du Pilat

Публикувано: 22.09.2022

Oh ... almost forgot about Bordeaux. Probably because Micha really wanted to write this post. So I pass on the baton for the first time: ... Bordeaux is not a recommendation from me. The few sights that were great (Mirror Square and Fountain) couldn't outweigh the 1,000 garbage cans in the alleys. I got grumpier and just ran through the streets, looking for a supermarket to quickly get out of the city. The promenade with a thousand shops and 10,000 tourists was not my thing. My highlight in the evening: Broiler in the Arabian Bistro, totally simple - chicken filled with lemon and garlic, totally delicious!!! I never gave so much tip. A dream has come true - Broiler in France.... And yes, he was grumpy like rarely before. ;-)

Change of scene: This is unbelievable!!! Such a natural wonder - Dune du Pilat. A 3 km long and 106 m high drifting dune slowly and with sunny elegance moves into the forest. You can simply climb it and walk along it, down and up. These colors are stunning and the knowledge that you don't have to die of thirst, it's not the end, it's encouraging. So much sand around us and all this in the best sunny weather. We couldn't stop being amazed. There was also a beach where we could happily jump into the sea. Again and again we look at each other and are deeply moved by so much happiness and beauty and that we are allowed and able to enjoy all of this. At the beginning of our journey, I often wondered if we would get bored at some point. After almost 3 months of traveling, I can say: No - the world is so diverse and beautiful and if you let yourself get carried away, there is so much to see and experience. Every evening we fall into bed exhausted but looking forward to the next day. However, I must also say that we have been extremely lucky with the weather so far. Not a single day when I would have preferred to sleep in a hotel. Yes, I know you and the question: Does Micha see it the same way? Since Micha is still the editor and publisher of the blog (I'm just the author), you can be sure that anything that doesn't correspond to Micha's view will be deleted (but there isn't much of that... honest!)

Yeah, ... you could see the remains of the burnt-out campsites and also the traces of the brown pines. You can't even imagine what the people and firefighters have been through here - so much forest, everything dry - David against Goliath.

We continued south in a relaxed manner and Biarritz presented itself as the next stop.
