This morning we climbed up to the storage castle. The first flowers and cacti are blooming, the sun accompanies us like every day. At some point, we stand in front of a gate that opens soon. An old man collects the entrance fee and shows us the direction to go. The castle from the 12th century was used for storing things like grain and valuables until the 1950s. It was also a refuge for humans and animals during tribal conflicts.
There are many storage rooms with long corridors to see. There was also a cistern and beehives. Definitely worth seeing, especially the surroundings with cliffs and the view of the village with palm trees in front of it. Then we continue our journey to Tafraout. A beautiful area with surrounding mountains. In between, there are always small villages with brightly painted houses. Many people, especially the children, wave. At the moment, it is also beautiful to see that some trees, such as almonds, are blooming. Tafraout is a date palm oasis located at an altitude of 1000m. It is the center of the Chleu Berber. Particularly attractive is the fantastic mountain scenery all around with bizarre granite rock formations. Since we want to take a shower again today, we are going to a campsite.
