Waihi

Over the weekend, we had a rugby event. We watched a rugby 7 tournament (7 because there are seven players on the field). The stadium was well-equipped. There was free water everywhere, the toilets were cleaned hourly, trash bins emptied, we never had to wait for food and drinks, and the kids got to enjoy free rides on amusement rides... Incredible! The atmosphere was electric when Fiji played. It was fantastic!

We spent four nights in Bowentown near Waihi with the whole host family. The days were filled with kids playing, fishing, boogie boarding, scooting around the house or on the pump track, surfing lessons, collecting seashells, swimming, beautiful sunrises, cozy dinners with 19 people outside on the veranda, very warm summer weather, lots of conversations, oliebollen, and lots of children's laughter. It was a wonderful time for everyone. The children gained four uncles and aunts, as well as 5 cousins...
