At 7 o'clock, I set off on the "Path of the Green Dream". It takes me along the beach and only a few short, shady passages in the forest to reach the El Chorro Waterfall. It is already scorching hot and very humid early in the morning. It takes me about an hour and a half to reach the waterfall. It is a journey of almost complete solitude along the Pacific. The beaches have such idyllic names, like Montezuma Beach, Piedra Colorado Beach, Grande Beach, and Cocolita Beach, at the end of which the waterfall is located. I only stay briefly at the waterfall, because the tide is coming in and the path along the beach will become more complicated. I already have to climb over enough beach debris. In the end, I am pretty exhausted from the heat and the high humidity. At a small beach, I see lots of small sardine-like fish. They were washed up on the beach by a big wave and got stranded. The following waves are unfortunately smaller and so they remain lying in the sand. Many of them have already died, but a few are still flopping around and I try to throw them back into the sea.
In the hotel room, I rest for a while. Then I continue on to the Montezuma Waterfall, because I long to swim in the cool water pool. The path there is not necessarily easy. It involves going over rocks and stones, crossing a stream, and sometimes there are ropes to hold on to when walking along the cliffs. After a short time, you arrive at the waterfall. Today, it is very crowded. The cool water is wonderful. I feel dizzy when I see a local climbing up the rocks at the waterfall. 15 to 20 meters without any safety measures, just to jump into the pool.
For the rest of the day, I spend time on the beach and have a nice afternoon.
