This was probably the most restful night we've had since the start of our journey. The room was comfortably cooled down to 27°, it was completely silent, and the bed was comfortable. We plant ourselves on our veranda and have breakfast there, drink coffee, and play Yahtzee - we really enjoy this little dice game.
After about twelve rounds, we lose interest and jump into the pool. After competitions like: who can walk the furthest on their hands, or who can drift further, we decide to go back to the veranda. I grab my laptop and catch up on some blog posts, including editing the photos. A 1 meter long monitor lizard wanders directly in front of our bungalow, briefly interrupting our concentration. It's getting late in the afternoon and we want to take a walk and have ice cream at a café/farm nearby - it was recommended to us on the internet and what the internet tells you must be done, of course.
After being accompanied by a pack of 5 dogs for a kilometer, lovely but a bit rough, we arrive at the café after about fifteen minutes. In front of us lies a high two-story tower, beneath which a slope extends to the water. It's all top modern - we believe the establishment only opened in April - and beautifully arranged.
Now, of course, we also try the recommended ice cream (€1.30 per scoop), and I am massively disappointed (3/10). Quite hard, watery, not sweet enough, and (in my case) not chocolaty enough; well, I've eaten many scoops of ice cream in my life, but this one had nothing to do with ice cream anymore (pun intended). Nevertheless, we enjoy the sight of a baby rabbit and the view of the water.
We walk back the same way, this time without dogs, and walk along the main road, which runs parallel to the water, in search of a small Thai restaurant. After 10 minutes, we find one and order fried noodles with chicken (€1.50 - but later brought with pork and beef, which is also fine) and garlic-pepper with pork on rice (also €1.50). The fried noodles are great (7/10) but the pork with garlic-pepper marinade absolutely blows us away; it's the most delicious thing we've eaten on this trip so far (10/10).
On the way back home, we stop by a small market that offers absolutely authentic and surely 100% original fashion - After all, a Tommy Hilfiger shirt always costs €5, doesn't it? We browse a bit, let the evening atmosphere sink in, and then make our way home with headlamps.
