Tag 358 - Yun Lai Viewpoint, Big Buddha Pai & Pai Canyon

Hello, my dears

Today we had an indescribably great day where we were able to see and experience a lot!

Our day started a little later than planned, at 9:00 a.m. instead of an hour earlier. However, everything worked out perfectly!

We drove to Yun Lai Viewpoint for morning coffee and enjoyed a wonderful view. After walking around there a bit, we returned to the car and drove to the Big Buddha in Pai. The stairs were quite long and we were glad we got there before midday because the sun was blazing relentlessly and you have to cover your knees and shoulders at the holy sites. From the Big Buddha you once again had a fantastic view! Next our stomachs responded and we took a long, late lunch break at a lovely restaurant right on the river.

At 3:00 p.m. we decided to head to Pai Canyon. It was still really hot, but we wanted to walk the entire loop and be back before dusk. We started running at 3:30 p.m. and covered a total of 4.5 kilometers. The trail is actually 5.7 kilometers long and yes, we got off the path once…. But the abbreviation was really an accident! 😁

The entire route was a really varied adventure! At first we walked over the canyon, which was really narrow in places, then we went through the jungle and then back down to the rocks. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed the time enormously! Just when we were no longer sure about the route, two others crossed us and we followed them from that moment on. A short time later we reached the starting point and were shocked by the crowd of people who were there because of the sunset. We walked back to the car, bought a few spring rolls and pineapple pieces for the evening at one of the stalls and headed back. Back at the accommodation we looked through the pictures and were thrilled with the results! ☺️
