Off to the warm!
What have we experienced last week?
In South Tyrol we visited Pippo.
Drank an incredible amount of espresso and admired how his mom makes homemade gnocchi.
We let ourselves be enchanted by wall paintings with optical illusions in the village monastery and admired the Franzfeste exhibition with the Brenner Base Tunnel, art, and history.
Lastly, we "bought back" Schrotti (the car was towed away because once a year there is a mowing day at the free parking lot, guess where we were. No one saw the sign. Very surreal when suddenly the car is gone, latent panic.)
First of all, let's have a Latschenkiefer schnapps :)
And then on to...
Venice
It was cold, cold, cold, very empty, and beautiful.
Especially the Canal Grande and the many small enchanted canals with their pretty bridges & gondolas.
The St. Mark's Basilica, completely covered in mosaic, glitter everywhere *.*
Enjoyed squid spaghetti and lots of pizza
Admired countless big and small churches and Venetian masks
Republic of San Marino
The 5th smallest country in the world and probably the oldest existing republic in the world with a history that is said to date back to the year 301.
For us: a picture book castle complex on a rocky ridge with three intact fortresses. A knight and damsel dream!
On Sunday evening, we took the ferry from Ancona to Igoumenitsa.
Calm sea and no problems with the online form for entry.
What does Greece feel like?
Warm! :) First of all, we went swimming in the sea! We have arrived and can hardly believe it ourselves... yay! Welcome to the retiree's paradise...
We will keep you posted!
