Mont Blanc

At the mountain station mentioned in the previous post, you have an excellent view of the entire French, Italian and Swiss Alps as well as the highest mountain in Europe, Mont-Blanc. The Aiguille di Midi cable car takes you to the gates of the high mountains at an altitude of 3,777 meters in 20 minutes.

An elevator takes you to the highest summit terrace at 3,842 meters, from where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of Mont-Blanc.

“The step into the void,” as it is often called, is a technological masterpiece that guarantees thrills. A five-sided glass box offers a view into the void with more than a thousand meters of emptiness under your feet and unforgettable impressions.

We definitely recommend making a stop at the middle station of the Plan de l'Aiguille cable car. Between Chamonix and the Aigiulle de Midi you have a beautiful view of the Arve valley and many possible hiking routes.

One of these hiking routes leads to a lake, Lac Blue. A 15-20 minute walk takes you to a turquoise-blue lake with a mountain panorama in the background.

Practical tips and things you should keep in mind:
