So that's it! Hard to believe, but 2.5 months have passed.
In the last few days, everything revolved around selling our car. So we spent several days in Auckland, ready for inspections at any time. And with success! Today we sold Hapi to a nice couple. She is from South Africa, he is from Israel.
It's really interesting the nationalities you come across when selling a car!
Anyway, it's definitely more complicated when the buyer is not from Europe and wants to pay in cash. Since it was out of the question for us to travel with 8500 NZ dollars in our pockets, we had to visit the bank. Fortunately, everything went smoothly, the money is in our account, and hopefully Hapi is in good hands. And even though he caused us some trouble and made our pulses race in the last few days, we're a bit sad that he's gone now. Maybe it's also sad because it makes you realize how fast time flies and now the time is getting closer to leave this beautiful country. But we are still excited about the fact that our journey is far from over. And we are looking forward to what's to come and the amazing time we have spent in New Zealand. Goodbye also means the beginning of something new. And that's why I'm excited about what's to come.
Oh, speaking of trouble. Two days after the story with the transmission oil, we had another 'incident' with Hapi. This time it was the car wash. Someone is always to blame! Yes, people, we were speechless. And we were just getting the car washed! Something must have bothered him there. While driving, the engine suddenly started shaking and suddenly nothing worked. And luckily, we were able to park on a parking lot just in time. Isn't that cursed???? It didn't look good. A local then kindly offered us his help. Water must have entered somewhere and caused a malfunction. After a while, the engine ran more and more normal and we could continue driving. Again, as if nothing had happened. But that was really the last shock!
When the buyers suggested an inspection at the workshop, we were a little nervous! But keep cool, luckily everything was fine. Hapi showed his best side again. Hopefully, he will continue to do so on his further journey. Eventually, the car will know New Zealand inside and out 😄.
That's one of the disadvantages when you decide to buy a car. It simply takes more time in the end and there is a much higher risk. I only really became aware of this when we had problems with Hapi. If that had gone wrong, we would have suffered a significant loss. Nevertheless, I would do it again. By buying a camper, we were able to save a lot of money.
For our last night in Auckland, we booked a cheap hotel. So we will end our last evening deeply relaxed with a pizza and a concert by ALT-J at Spark Arena in Auckland.
And maybe with a beer. We deserve it after all the excitement.
Cheers!
Oh, in case you didn't know. Our adventure continues!
We'll hear from each other from Australia!
Howdy!
