Kotor / Budva 🇲🇪

Апублікавана: 30.07.2018

As mentioned, Kotor was explored, the starting point was this morning, after we got a very hearty breakfast at a small bakery, first of all the way up the mountain. Pleasantly noticing that the body is generally in good condition and so we walk several meters uphill in certainly 33 degrees Celsius. I have no idea how many, you can guess from the pictures. By the way, the fun costs 8€ entrance fee, it's expensive, but the path and exploring the ruins are definitely interesting!

Again, two nights in Kotor are definitely worth it!

We are going to Budva, why? I don't know either. Heard of it before. We arrive by bus in a mix of Mallorca, Cancun, and St Tropez. We realize: luckily we only booked two nights and in the neighboring town. Even the first way to the beach makes us retreat unanimously to the balcony and open a bottle of wine. Russian mass tourism with maximum Balkan charm is the program here: beach umbrella next to beach umbrella, hotel next to hotel.

We have food with the wine, here you can order meat directly from the refrigeration counter and have it grilled in front of your eyes. This, together with some salami, goat cheese, and so on, makes for a really good meal. The meat, especially cevapcici and co, is really fantastic here in the region!

The next morning we rent a scooter, at least that's the plan. The "10-minute walk" is more like 20, but we're used to that. Arrived at the rental place, it turns out: forgot the driver's license, it's in the room. So the idea comes up: I'll rent a bike and get the license. However, this willingness ensures that the gentleman at least hands out the scooter to get the license and I don't have to ride a bike! Very good.

So we drive to Sveti Stefan, realize that the island is sealed off and practically a hotel (1400€ per night and the island is yours). And otherwise, there is little opportunity here to access a beach that is not privatized or packed with beach umbrellas.

As an overall summary here and in general, Montenegro is a truly beautiful country, but unfortunately it is completely exploited in terms of tourism. Therefore, we are now on our way to Albania, more precisely towards Tirana. Let's see what's going on here, the north should not be so contaminated, but the south is. We'll take a look everywhere.
