Alright folks,
I haven't finished writing my last blog post yet, but I can start writing the next one in the meantime.
My time in Blenheim is coming to an end.
I'm currently at the airport, which feels like the smallest airport ever. There are no security checks, you go straight from the entrance to the gate. This fact makes the New Zealanders even more likable in my eyes.
But let's start from the beginning.
Biddy Kate's....
when I checked into my hostel what feels like ages ago, I had no idea how amazing this time would be. I have met incredibly wonderful people, had great experiences, and made many memories.
I had my Poppy Thai job here, which I quit about two weeks ago, and my job at the mussel factory.
At the mussel factory, there were days when I didn't feel like working, but the job was a good fit for me. It wasn't particularly challenging, sometimes it was tough, but I had so much fun at work. Yesterday, when I said goodbye to everyone, I was really sad. I've never worked anywhere with such a great working atmosphere. I sat on the balcony for a while last night, and I had to hold back a few tears because I somehow feel hurt that I won't see these amazing people again, whether I know them from the hostel or work.
At Poppy Thai, I learned that you shouldn't be afraid to speak your mind. I once expressed my opinion about my boss's behavior, and it felt great. Dana often trusted me with a lot, and it happened frequently that I was allowed to manage the place on my own. I was very happy that she trusted me with everything. Apart from the fact that Dana sometimes annoyed me, I also had a great time here, and I will especially miss the good food.
I'm really excited about today because it's already off to a great start.
I said goodbye to Adela, my roommate and indirect colleague, and I will definitely miss her sleep laughter. I found a very good friend in her, and I will definitely visit her in Prague. I already miss her somehow.
Then I took a taxi to the airport, and once again I realized that it's the little things like the wonderful conversation with the taxi driver that give me so much strength.
I'm finding it extremely difficult to board the plane right now.
It's the last time (99%) on the South Island, a new beginning awaits me starting in Auckland,...
I don't know what's worse, the uncertainty of what's to come or saying goodbye to the life I've built here...
