Today a bit less activities.

11.10.2018:

Somehow, I'm feeling a bit unmotivated right now. I miss just lying in bed for a while and watching a series. Just not moving. Lounging. Today is the day for that.

I only went to Buak Hard Public Park. And I found a great restaurant where I had this coconut soup with lots of vegetables and rice in star shape. It was just amazing!

In the evening, I thought about what else I want to experience in Chiang Mai. A few activities came to my mind. Which ones, will be shown in the following blogs :).

In my room was a woman over 40 from Singapore. She works in a library in Heidelberg, Germany. Her name is Eri. She wanted to buy Durian, the stinky fruit, at the market in the evening. That was my chance! I wanted to try this fruit too. Result: Disgusting! A really strange consistency, weird taste and smell. I still wanted to eat something real. So we went on the search. Ohhh, crocodile! Awesome! So I actually tried crocodile. It tasted great, but I couldn't really compare it to anything else.

Then I fulfilled another wish. I wanted to buy one of those painted 'canvases' with wood on top and bottom. And today I found a very cheap one with elephants on it. Actually, I wanted a Buddha on it, but I have no idea about export. In the end, I had four scoops of ice cream. It was so delicious! Eri kept telling me not to eat her, in case I turned into a crocodile at night. When we were on the bridge just before the hostel, she said I should not jump down into the river with my crocodile brothers and sisters. When she was between me and the railing, I pretended to want to jump and she should stop me. It was so funny!

In general, Eri was the most communicative person I have ever met. She talked to everyone in the hostel. She cooked that evening - not just for herself - she shared it with everyone in the hostel who wanted it. She is such a lovely person. She wrote the book 'The Song of Paper Flowers' about a mother and her child who is diagnosed with leukemia. Not her own story, but she said it happens like that there more often. Hopefully I will see her again in Heidelberg at some point. Contacts have been exchanged. She is over 40 and still so vibrant!
