Kite-Surfing, Laundry day & Pancake mess

Апублікавана: 24.02.2018

3rd - 6th February

After a good night's sleep, digesting the churros and having a hearty breakfast, we collectively pondered what we could do today.

Fortunately, we got along really well with our neighbors (we charming ones 😂) and the father of the 5-member family (2 boys, 1 girl) recommended that we visit the beach.

Hmm, we had already been there yesterday...

But (yet again the big BUT) on this day, there was a kite-surfing competition right on the beach of Mar Chiquita.
Whether it was international, national, or regional, we couldn't find out...

From quite a distance, we could see dozens of colorful parachutes swaying back and forth in the blue sky.

In all color combinations. The whole spectacle was accompanied by some music from the main tent of the tournament and the shining sun.
For quite a while, we watched as each participant tried to outdo their competitors with higher and higher jumps or double, triple somersaults.

Somehow, we felt tempted to join in as well 🤔 but better after a few years of practice 😅

The day was rounded off with a few pictures.
But not just any pictures.
For the first time on this trip, I stood in front of the camera (apart from selfies) 🙆‍♂️ Unbelievable!

Quite unfamiliar 😁

But it will become a habit. From time to time, you also want a few photos of yourself and occasionally be in front of the camera!

The following days were actually put to good use.

So no lazy lounging around!
First, I spent a whole day doing laundry for the few clothes I actually had.
In other words: 3 underwear, 3 pairs of socks, and 2 short t-shirts.

Clad in swim trunks (my zip-off pants were wet) and a long t-shirt, I set out to do the laundry.
It must have looked pretty funny.
I'm sure everyone thought I was crazy.

Well, the washing itself went pretty well. (After a short instruction from Conny, but shh 🤐)
The drying... Well

How should I put it.

The wind can be great, but it can also get on your nerves...

The clothes dried faster, but that didn't help when half of them fell back into the dirt while still half wet 😲

In the end: All's well! Everything worked out!

But the same can't be said for my attempt to prepare lunch 😂
There aren't many dishes I can cook in principle, which is why I'm quite proud of my pancakes.

By the recipe from my cousin: Richard. Thanks a lot for that!

So I tried making pancakes with our dishes and our cooker.
Dear grannies, grandpas, mom, dad, aunt, uncle, etc., have you ever tried making pancakes in an uncoated pan?

Here's the answer to why you shouldn't do it in such a pan: It's horrible!

In the end, I switched to making shredded pancakes. What it turned out to be... Well, a mixture of fried baby food.

Although no one complained, I felt hurt in my pancake-cooking honor and promised that we would meet again in Germany for pancakes, and then I would make the best pancakes I have ever made.

If that's not a promise 😅

On our last day in Mar Chiquita, we dealt with the gigantic tarp, and gigantic (in my eyes) was the right term.
Setting up the tarp with all the ropes and lines is already a day's task.

But with a little patience and a cool head (we're not complete idiots) we managed to handle this task.
The tarp was up and the joy was great!

Yet, it had not yet faced a real test... The previous weather (blue sky and sunshine) was hardly a proper challenge...

Let's see what the future holds.

I'm excited!
