Day 7: Cervantes - Pinnacles/Nambung National Park - Dongara

Апублікавана: 20.09.2018

Tonight the temperatures were somewhat milder and the camper was comfortable. Michi goes for a run on the beach in the early morning. While the kids are still sleeping, we prepare everything for the next journey. At 9 o'clock everyone is awake. After breakfast, we head to the Pinnacles in Nambung National Park.

The Pinnacles are thousands of rock needles in a desert landscape. Since our camper is too big for the tour, we explore the sight on foot. Equipped with a stroller and several cameras (we got children's cameras at home, but they are not as interesting as DSLRs and GoPros), we leisurely stroll through the rock formations. We and the kids are impressed by the amazing landscape. Finally, the weather is better and we enjoy the warm sun rays.

At the visitor center, we get the annual pass for the national parks in Western Australia. Since we are traveling for 2 months, it is worth the investment. We buy an ice cream and have a snack in the motorhome. Then we hit the road again. Our destination for today is Dongara.

After nearly 200 km, we arrive at Dongara Tourist Park at 5:30 p.m. We park our motorhome and quickly run to the beach. Just in time for our first sunset in Western Australia. The beach is full of grass and there are only a few patches of sand. The wind is strong and it's not really cozy, but we have to have our sundowner beer. Tonight we have asparagus risotto with salmon.
