Dear travel diary
Thursday, 6th May 2021
Oh dear, I had a hard time getting up today. So tired that I even considered not going to school. Nevertheless, I exerted all my strength to get out of bed and get ready.
When I arrived at school, they announced that we would be doing the oral part of our weekly exam today. Great, I'm as tired as a sloth but I have to speak like a parrot.
The positive thing about school was the prize we won in a competition. A voucher to not do homework for once. Knowing myself, I will either forget to redeem this voucher or not need it at all since I will do the homework anyway.
After school, Chantal and I went to Ala Moana Center to look for replacement earrings for the ones we lost in the air yesterday. Once we found them, we took the bus to Queen's Medical Center to attend our vaccination appointment. The reception lady said we were in the wrong place, even though we had selected this location during registration. Anyway, she sent us to Neal Blaisdell Concert Hall instead.
Upon arrival, we had to sign in and fill out a form, and then we went through the concert hall to the foyer of this hall. One table after another, the vaccine dose was injected into the arm. After the short prick, I had to sit outside on a chair and wait for 15 minutes. Once these were over and I still felt fine, I was allowed to leave. Now I'm curious to see how my arm and body will react.
In the evening, we had dinner with Camille at a steakhouse. It was a real feast and a very cozy and fun evening. It's a shame that she is leaving already, but at least she will come back to Honolulu for two short days in two weeks.
In addition, we had to say goodbye to Uncle Randy today as he is going back to Alaska. But we will see him again soon, as he will come back in mid-June.

After a school day that mainly consisted of discussions and breaks, we had lunch for the last time with Camille and some others. Afterwards, we took the bus to Chinatown to go to a specific shop. Not a very nice place, this Chinatown in Honolulu.
On the way back, we made another stop at Ala Moana Center. On the way there, I almost ended up under the hood of a large Range Rover. Trying to drive when the light was still red - ridiculous!
In the evening, I had to empty my entire room and lay it out on the dining table. Today, my room is being rearranged and tomorrow it will be switched with Grandma's room. This is due to her health, so that she is closer to Debbie and Tony in case of emergency.
At such an occasion, the whole family naturally helps out. Only the two of us and Grandma had been forced to take time off work.
