Having fled from Seville due to continuous rain, Cadiz awaited us with slightly sunny and therefore much better weather.
Cadiz is the oldest permanently inhabited city in Europe, with a history dating back over 3000 years.
We park in the port and it's only a few minutes' walk to the fantastic old town. We spend several days wandering through the streets in all directions, with only heavy rain on the first evening and otherwise sunny weather.
Countless bars, cafes, and small shops selling everything from groceries to trinkets, and we're right in the middle of it all.
On the Friday before Palm Sunday, we witness a pre-Easter procession, with the famous "Mützenmännle" carrying holy insignia and atoning for their sins. The Pasos (holy chair with the Mother of God) passes right by us. 28 men have to carry this burden for hours through the streets.
