Vogelsang: tracing the Nazis in the Eifel region

Unfortunately sad news: In the middle of the Eifel National Park, the structures of the former Nazi 'Ordensburg' Vogelsang rise, which has now been converted into an international meeting and educational center: 'Vogelsang IP | International Place in the Eifel National Park'. Even after almost 90 years, the gloomy buildings still appear unwelcoming.

On a hiking trail, you will reach the abandoned village of Wollseifen after about 3 km, which had to be evacuated by its residents after World War II. The area served as a military training ground until January 1, 2006, and now belongs to the Eifel National Park. Instead of soldiers, you will fortunately encounter deer, rabbits, and mouflons.
