Day 5, dress test

Nəşr edilmişdir: 01.02.2018

After a super delicious breakfast buffet that left nothing to be desired, we went back to the technical discipline area by bus.

Today we had to leave the skis behind and walk in the middle of the SL track. The new ski pants proved to be very warm, which was definitely desired. However, weaknesses in the fabric quickly became apparent when we tangled through the forest. Just quickly snagged on a plant and there was a scratch in the brand new ski pants that had been worn for less than two hours. The insulation and the entire interior were now clearly visible. Luckily, I wasn't the only one who suffered this fate. Hansruedi also had an even bigger scratch in his ski pants.

This little incident didn't spoil our mood, so we continued to diligently pull cables. We made a big step forward until noon, so we could take it a bit easier in the afternoon.

Arriving at the top of the mountain after a sensational lunch buffet, we were able to enjoy the sun for a little while. The view was so good that we could guess where North Korea is. It was also enough to catch a glimpse of Hans Pieren, who is responsible for the slopes, as well as Günther Huiara, who instructs the Koreans regarding the nets.

After installing several hundred meters of wiring from the top, we had to shovel some rolls of cable out of the snow. Our colleagues had placed them in front of the target hub and did not expect our Korean friends to install a snow cannon at this exact location to snow the roofs with beautiful white snow. Now the roofs were covered in snow, but our cables were buried in the snow for over half a meter. It simply meant digging them out.

Finally, we discussed the tasks for the following day. Our team leader Rico was definitely satisfied today.
