The meeting point for the city tour was in the tourism center. At first I thought I was alone, but others came. We then took the bus to the city center. Apparently there is no metro, but there are buses that have their own lane on the streets (including the highway) so there can be no delay. When we arrived we met up with a second group and then we could choose between two tour guides, one in Spanish and one in English. I chose Spanish and luckily it was a small group (4 French and a Spanish woman). The other group felt like it was 30 people, so I was really lucky and our guide explained everything in detail. I didn't realize that my hotel was only in one part of the city and there are over 40 of them in Lima. She then took us to the historic city center. There was a lot there for tourists. We saw a few churches and also the Plaza mayor, in German the main square. She also told us a bit about the history of Peru. Since it was a free tour or based on donations, you can't complain. It was so humid in the city that everyone was sweating. I think it's good that I'm not the only one who feels like new sweat forms after 5 seconds after wiping off sweat. After the tour, I walked through the city center alone and then took the bus back.
Of course I laid down in the pool at the hotel :)
