Continuing north along the departmental road, following the Loire River (that's how the French describe it, although I would say we are heading west). This entire valley is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, and rightfully so. The route is lined with many amazing historical buildings and vineyards.
In Blois, we were initially impressed by the annually redesigned staircase. It feels like the people sitting on the stairs are sitting on top of the globe. The view of the previous designs also left us in awe. After visiting the cathedral, we headed towards the Château de Blois. On our way there, we happened to pass by the Maison de la Magie at the exact moment the dragon heads appeared in the windows with musical accompaniment. Our stroll in the Quartier des Arts completed our visit to Blois. We are amazed by the creativity with which the French make cities interesting.
We continued on the departmental road towards Amboise. Right at the entrance of the town, there is a parking space. We found a spot there and took a rest. In the evening, we rode our bikes into the town of Amboise, wondering if we would find something to eat.
When we arrived in the town, we were amazed. The atmosphere was buzzing, with numerous restaurants lining the alleys and many people bustling about. We decided to try something new and opted for the "formule Ardoise", a three-course menu. This time without Andoilette, but with dishes like Terrine au Campagne and a fish with a regional butter sauce. It tasted delicious!
