Peljesac Peninsula

Today we moved on to Orebić, a harbor town on the Peljesac Peninsula. On the way there, we made a stop in Ston, the gateway to the peninsula. Here stands the longest preserved fortress wall in the world, after the Great Wall of China. With a length of 5.5 km, it stretches like a ribbon across the mountain. It connects the towns of Ston and Mali Ston, is walkable, and served as protection for the salt pans and the peninsula. Today, we did it like the Asians: Stop - Get out - Photo - Continue driving. Sven is not feeling well, he has a bit of a cold, and a walk along the wall in the merciless sun and heat is definitely not fun.

By noon, we arrived at the campsite "Nevio". Unfortunately, we could not make a reservation in advance, so we drove there "on a whim" AND.....we got lucky! Hooray.....a 55 sqm natural terrace under olive trees with a view of the sea and the neighboring islands. 35 degrees in the shade and the chirping of cicadas complete the whole thing to a perfect Mediterranean holiday feeling. There are ways to cool off. For example, the beach with a beach bar within walking distance or the campsite's pool. After the sweat-inducing tent setup, a dip in the sea was our first choice and it was.....HEAVENLY! And the cold Radler (beer and lemonade mix) at the beach bar afterwards also hit the spot... Vacation!!!

The campsite is a 5-star place and it definitely deserves it. Nothing is missing and everything else is absolutely fantastic, clean, and well organized. We will definitely stay here for a while and "take it easy", of course with a few highlights that we will definitely report to you later.
