Oahu in one day

Nəşr edilmişdir: 09.11.2017

After visiting Honolulu and Pearl Harbor, today's itinerary includes an island tour.

Oahu is the third largest of the Hawaiian Islands. Like all of Hawaii, it is of volcanic origin. Diamond Head, an extinct volcano that has been dormant for 10,000 years, rises above Honolulu.

The island offers incredibly beautiful and diverse landscapes, which we now want to admire with our own eyes.

Cannon, our friendly guide from Oahu Private Tours, welcomes us at the hotel and off we go.

After enjoying the stunning views from various lookouts, we reach the Nuuanu Pali Lookout.

Stunningly beautiful, a little mystical, and rich in history.

In 1795, Kamehameha I sailed with 10,000 warriors from Big Island to Oahu, after having already conquered the islands of Maui and Molokai.

At the Nuuanu Pali Cliff, the native warriors put up fierce resistance but were decisively defeated and Oahu submitted to Kamehameha I. Hawaii was founded.

On our journey across the island, we also see the Byodo Temple, a 900-year-old replica of a Japanese temple.

Breathtakingly beautiful, the temple nestles against the mountains. You feel like you've been transported thousands of kilometers to Japan.

The journey continues and we make stops at countless Hollywood sets, including Sunset Beach.

The beach served as a filming location for Elvis Presley's movie 'Blue Hawaii' and is a hotspot for surfers.

Today, the normally strong wind is more of a gentle breeze and the surfers paddle bored in the sea, waiting for the perfect wave that won't come on this day.

Then it's lunchtime and we enjoy garlic shrimp from one of the countless food trucks that offer great food at affordable prices.

Yummy!

On our way back to Honolulu, we see pineapple fields and a coffee farm, where we also get to try delicious coffee.

An eventful day comes to an end.

Now it's time to say bye bye to Oahu and Aloha to Big Island.
