We slept in, it's Monday morning!!! Our first destination today is the Blue Lake, a crater lake that is popular among locals for fitness walks. We hike the 4 km on a paved road, with occasional explanations along the way that the lake was formed by volcanic activities, it supplies the community's water needs, and we should please not pollute it, although we can't even get close to the lake. The walk is successful, and even though the Visitor Centre is temporarily closed, there is still WiFi. We take care of our online businesses, the blog post can be uploaded, but unfortunately not the pictures. We promise to catch up on that. We download the National Park app and book a camping spot, the one we chose last night. Bool Lagoon. Continuing along the coast, in Canunda NP we see vegetated dunes, walk on several trails, observe short bushes and rugged coastal areas. There is no magnificent beach here, but the landscape, the many small flowers, and the friendly weather with sunshine don't require bathing. We are satisfied and continue on to Bool Lagoon, which is already 100 km inland. We drive past planted pine forests and also planted eucalyptus forests. The Bool Lagoon we intended to visit looks like the Langhagen Seewiesen, except there is currently no water here, so we won't see the thousands of birds today, but that's okay. We drive to Big Hill, 20 meters above the bottom of the lagoon, but with a view of the whole area. We arrive at the campground, of course we have a reservation, and we are all alone. 100 spots and my sweetheart drives over a tree stump and we get stuck, the Toyota literally propped up. Shit and we immediately think ahead. Digging out, lifting the car. Pulling out the tree stump. Sounds stupid, but it worked because I saw how flexible the tree stump was when we conquered it in the storm. After an hour, the thing is out. And we are glad we didn't have to walk several kilometers to the nearest agricultural facility. We are also glad that we managed to do it alone and cook ourselves something nice for dinner. We have fish. In the meantime, hundreds of birds, like snipes, are soaring over the landscape, in formation flight, so to speak. And geese are gathering. We are satisfied to have successfully overcome this predicament. Even though we are alone here, we are strong.
