On this Sunday, I went to London once again, thankfully like almost every weekend. But this time, apart from the usual attraction this city has on me, there were even two more reasons that brought me to London!
Firstly, there was a visit to the Tate Modern Museum. The reason for this was a group project for my course 'Creative Arts Marketing'. We were supposed to choose an exhibition of our interest, visit it, and then write a report about it.
Our choice fell on 'The Radical Eye' photography exhibition, which is Elton John's private collection.
The exhibition was very worth seeing, in my opinion, but unfortunately, the admission fee was quite high at 14 pounds.
Nevertheless, I have to say at this point that I quite share Elton John's taste in photography. He focuses a lot on black and white photography, history, and emotions. You can see my favorite picture from the exhibition here, called 'glass tears'.
After the exhibition, I went up to the roof of the museum, which offers a unique view of the Thames and Saint Paul's Cathedral for free. Highly recommended!
In the late afternoon, I then crossed the Millennium Bridge towards Saint Paul's Cathedral to take the underground from there.
It was finally time for agenda item number 2: a fellow student from my German university and his sister wanted to meet Miri and me in London.
At that time, the three of them were shopping on Oxford Street, so we met there to have dinner together. After that, the shopping tour continued towards Regent Street and Piccadilly Circus.
It was very nice to meet them in London, and I'm sure we will soon visit Cambridge in return...
To put it in a nutshell: a diverse day with many nice people! :)
Take care!
Yours,
Leonie
