Day 2: From Abbortsfort to Alice Lake Park

We wake up too early again. It takes a few days to get used to the time. We have breakfast and take a short walk. We see many wild rabbits again, living right by the road in front yards. We are picked up at 10:30 am by the shuttle bus and taken to Abbortsfort to the camper rental company Four Seasons. There we receive instructions for our XL camper. It is a total of 9 meters long and has a kitchen with fridge, stove, and microwave, as well as a bathroom with shower and toilet. We quickly set up the camper and drive to the nearby Walmart for a big shopping trip. It takes us 2 hours to fill our 2 shopping carts with the most important things for the coming time. At 420€, not a cheap affair, but we should be able to manage for a longer time. Now we head for our first campsite. Highway 1 takes us back to Vancouver. We drive north along the coast. The road passes by Horseshoe Bay. The clouds get caught in the hilly islands, creating a great backdrop. After almost 2 hours, we reach our destination for the day, Alice Lake Provincial Park. The campground is in the middle of the forest and we quickly occupy it thanks to the pre-booking.
Now it's time to store all the things and find a system, everything needs its place. After a late dinner, René makes a campfire and the kids can grill their marshmallows.
Around 10 pm, we retreat.
