Given the current situation, my broadcasting organization in Germany advised me to return. The principal gave me the same advice.
Initially, it was said that the airports would be closed from Monday at 8 am, but it was still possible to find a flight. To reduce the risk, I chose the nearby airport in Førde. However, it is really closing on Wednesday. That meant I had to fly on Tuesday.
At around four o'clock on Monday afternoon, I decided to fly home and immediately booked the tickets. Since my first flight to Oslo was very early in the morning, there was no bus, so my principal made me a super-kind offer: I could have the school car and she would pick it up later in the day at the airport. After trying to pack my suitcase (I was quite exhausted from the day) and then emptying it again after the first weight test showed 28 kg on the suitcase scale display, I had a good conversation with my roommates and distributed my food to them. Later in the evening, I went to the school with the principal to pick up the school car. After that, it was straight to bed.
The day started for me at 3.45 am, with the last repacking because the suitcase was still a little too heavy. In pouring rain, I ran to the car and drove it in front of the house, then the luggage was loaded and we drove towards the airport at 4.30 am. I had to make a little detour though: I wanted to drive alone over the famous Dale Bridge.
Then it went quickly to the airport, if I didn't have to slow down because of deer.
In the airplane to Oslo, there were two passengers, and the flight attendant chatted a bit with us. Because of the lack of luggage, we were assigned our seats in the back. We flew to Oslo with the sunrise ahead of us, and we were greeted as follows: "Welcome to Oslo, you two! We (the flight attendant and the pilots) thank you for this flight. Take care!". That was a bit strange.
After a layover, we headed to Munich. The plane was relatively full, but I had my own row. No one wanted to sit in the back rows :)
I had been following the situation in Germany in the news, so I thought it was almost like Norway. But that is not the case at all! I haven't seen any hand sanitizers anywhere in stores or at the airport, and I haven't encountered any restrictions yet, which surprises me a lot since there are cases in the district, while my municipality in Norway has had no cases at all. But on the other hand, it's also nice to have fewer restrictions, and the best part is the weather here: sunshine and spring, while Norway is experiencing hail and thunderstorms.
Now I'm looking forward to celebrating Easter with my family.
P.S. I don't have a vacation here either because I can and have to participate in classes over the internet. So I won't get bored.
