As you can see from the title, a lot has happened in the last few days 😃.
After two relatively cool days (30 degrees) in San Diego, we headed to the desert on the 4th day 🏜. Our goal that day was to reach Joshua Tree National Park. On the way there, we made a stop in Palm Springs to take the cable car to Mount San Jacinto. Even on the mountain, it was quite warm... But that was nothing compared to the next few hours.
We went shopping and refueling after coming down from the mountain. Shopping at 50 degrees... that was really hell 😌😌😌 I just wanted to see you sweat 😂. The temperatures didn't get any lower 😂. There were 3 more campers at the camping site in Joshua Tree... Who sleeps in a camper or tent at the hottest place in California? 🤔 Well, I didn't sleep.
The next day, we embarked on a long journey to the Grand Canyon. We had a long 6 hours ahead of us 🙈. On the way, we drove a stretch on the Historic Route 66... That was really wow. The stretch between Kingman and Seligman is definitely worth a trip.
We arrived at the campground around 6:30pm. We made it to Mather View just in time for the sunset.
Yesterday, we took out our hiking shoes for the first time and headed towards Bright Angel Trail. Our goal was Indian Garden, but we ended at the 3-mile resthouse... And that was farther than the ranger recommended 🤔 but hiking for 5 hours in 40 degrees was really something. The rest of the day was all about chilling 😅😎.
Today, we drove from the Grand Canyon to Page to visit Lower Antelope Canyon. It was just amazing to hike through this canyon. WOW...
Now we are sitting at Lake Powell and enjoying the warm weather 🙂.
Tomorrow, we will go to Bryce Canyon and then to Zion National Park. Until then, have a nice Sunday... we will now go to sleep 😴.
