- Today I took a rest day here in Ohrid. I got a really nice accommodation 20 meters away from the lake (17 €). It takes me 2 minutes to walk to the nearest small beach to swim a little (water temperature 24 ° ). For the Macedonians, Lake Ohrid is like Lake Garda. There are a lot of tourists from all over the world. The next stage was supposed to be a very strenuous tour over the mountains: 1000 meters elevation, 22 km, and partly overgrown paths with no villages. I can't make my swollen and painful foot go through that now. I bought a bus ticket to the next city behind the mountain, and I will leave tomorrow morning at 6 o'clock with it. However, when I arrive in Resin, I plan to continue walking right away, which would also be 22 km and about 600 meters elevation. But I will always be near the road in case my foot or I can't take it anymore, so I could also try hitchhiking to get further.
