Tag 145-146 'Glacier Lakes and Captain Cook'

We had to drive again. Due to the weather, our route along the South Coast takes on unfamiliar forms. Around 11 am, we drove from Christchurch towards Mount Cook. Mr. James Cook has nailed his name to a mountain here too 🤣 . Lake Tekapo is located halfway. A glacier lake, as turquoise as Smurf and his friends. A shower has been needed for quite some time, but not in this freezing water. So, once again, only a cat wash under the most wonderful starry sky was possible. It is one of the top spots for stargazers. We had already visited one of the top 10 addresses in the world in Hawaii with the observatory. Always magnificent.

When it comes to Day 146, there is only one thing to say: Ulli does what others climb on foot. Fly to Mount Cook! (there he is again) I wasn't so tempted and stayed below. The pictures tell everything. (Note from Ulli - It was AMAZING!!!!! Even though I don't like to use that word). A flight with a ski plane and landing on a glacier. Not enough, because today I had the exclusive opportunity to be a co-pilot and had the best view of all! 😇😇😇🥳🥳

Down below, there was lively chatter and exchange about the experience. Lake Pukaki was chosen as the evening spot. The color of the lake this time was Smurfette-blue. Good night.
