After a great breakfast, we start with the goal: Etosha National Park!
At noon, we arrive at our camp: a large (fixed) tent! Exciting! All around, there are large windows with mosquito nets.
At 37 degrees Celsius, we first jump into the beautiful large pool. We have the entire facility to ourselves, we are the only guests! So much tranquility - priceless. The joy of the off-season.
Then we finally enter the park, our first safari! To start, we are greeted by a friendly giraffe, we encounter antelopes, zebras, ostriches, guinea fowls, even more giraffes, lots of big and small birds, and then: lionesses!!! With their cubs!!!! At a waterhole. But they are sleeping and not moving an inch. Great luck, as the king of the animals is not often seen here.
In the park, there was a booklet for the children that depicted all the animals with their names that can be found in Etosha. And in the evening, the children "tick off" all the animals we have seen. Soooo many, already on the first evening!
Back at the camp, there is a delicious dinner (just for us!). We enjoy it and are grateful that we have such a nice experience.
In the evening, we see a beautiful bright starry sky in front of our tent.
Let's see if we can sleep well in the tent (with all the sounds that can be heard...)
