Today we are taking a wonderful trip towards the south-west. The Lacul is located about 110km south of Timisoara.
The approach over Swiss cheese asphalt via Potoc.
There are two parking spaces at the end of the asphalt road. From there it is about 7km or a 1 hour hike to the fish farm.
Alternatively, you can drive up a Drumul Forestier to fish farming with a vehicle weighing up to 12.5t.
There is also a campsite here. You might miss the Cascada La Vaioaga and the beautiful nature along the way.
From the fish farm it is another 30 minutes to the Lacul.
Lacul Ochiul Beiului is a beautiful karstic lake located in the Cheile Nerei-Beușnița National Park in the Anina Mountains, in Caraș-Severin County. The lake is known for its crystal clear turquoise waters that do not freeze even in winter. It has a maximum depth of about 3.6 meters and a surface area of around 284 square meters. The lake is fed by a strong karst spring, which explains its constant temperature and clarity. Legend has it that the lake was formed from the tears of a young Bei (Turkish title) who was crying for his lost love.
